The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Program in Geography examines the relationship between society and environment seeking to understand the complex connection between people and places. Practical and field classes offers the students the opportunity to explore and examine geographical issues and problems first-hand.

Duration : Three years.

Award :
Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded the "Bachelor of Arts (Honours)" Degree in Geography by the University, subject to University regulations.

Pass in 10+2 in any discipline with an aggregate marks of 40%. Final year students awaiting results may also apply.

Program Structure

The BA (Honours) in Geography program consists of 28 courses covered in six semesters spread over three years including an undergraduate dissertation. Students will be required to complete 18 core subjects in addition to 5 Choice Based Electives and 5 Compulsory Papers. Students are additionally required to complete two summer projects at the end of Year-I and Year-II respectively and an Internship in the sixth semester. Electives will be choice based electives from other disciplines.

Core Specializations (Semester V & VI) : Settlement Geography; Geography of Rural development; Geography of Tourism; Agricultural Geography; Man and Environmental Management; Statistical Techniques in Geography; Political Geography; Case Studies in Geography.
