One Day Lecture on Real Estate Market in Mizoram
The IUM Entrepreneur Club organized a lecture on “Real Estate Market in Mizoram” on 7 February 2024 at NJY Memorial Auditorium. The session was delivered by Mr. James Ramdinmawia, Chairman of Zamzo Real Estate, who shared insights on the real estate sector and entrepreneurial opportunities in Mizoram.
Special Lectures by the Department of Education
The Department of Education organized special lectures on “Impact of Art on Students Academically” (16 February 2024) and “Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)” (22 February 2024). The sessions highlighted the role of art in enhancing academic performance and the importance of early childhood learning.
Workshop on Statistical Data Analysis using SPSS
The Department of Economics organized workshops on Statistical Data Analysis using SPSS to strengthen research skills among students. The programs provided hands-on training on statistical tools and data interpretation for academic research.

The Department of Management organized a Special Talk on 14 August 2024 at NJY Memorial Auditorium. Mr. Daniel Lalawmpuia, CEO of Anna Food Production & Greenwave Farmtech, shared practical insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, and business development.
Special Lecture on Plagiarism and Academic Integrity
On 23 August 2024, the Department of Education conducted a lecture on “Plagiarism and Academic Integrity.” Dr. Oliver Lalthlengliana from IASE Mizoram emphasized ethical research practices, responsible academic writing, and the importance of originality in scholarly work.
Visionary Leadership Talk
The White Ribbon Club organized a talk on “Visionary Leadership” on 25 September 2024. Dr. Vanlalsiama Chhangte, Managing Director of Ebenezer Medical Centre, shared perspectives on leadership qualities, motivation, and professional growth.

The Department of Economics organized a lecture on “The Concept of Justice: Intersection of Philosophy and Economics” on 30 September 2024. The resource person discussed the relationship between philosophical theories of justice and economic distribution of resources.

On 17 October 2024, the Department of Economics organized a Financial Literacy Workshop in collaboration with State Bank of India, focusing on financial planning and responsible money management.
Special Lecture Series by the Department of History
On 28 October 2024, the Department of History organized a Special Lecture Series featuring scholars from Mizoram University and the Archaeological Survey of India, who delivered talks on historical research, archaeology, and heritage studies.
Workshop on Quality Culture in Higher Education
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a workshop on 26 November 2024 focusing on quality culture, NAAC accreditation processes, and institutional quality enhancement.
Research Methodology Lectures and Workshops
Several departments organized lectures and workshops on Research Methodology to strengthen students’ research competencies. These sessions covered research design, data collection techniques, academic writing, and MLA formatting, benefiting postgraduate students and research scholars.
Career Insight Talk
The Department of Economics organized a career talk titled “Career Insight: Building Purposeful and Impactful Careers” on 17 April 2025. The invited speakers shared their experiences in higher studies, competitive examinations, and professional development, followed by an interactive discussion with students.
Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
The IPR Cell, in collaboration with the Departments of Management and IT, organized a One-Day Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights on 14 August 2025. Experts from MISTIC delivered sessions on patents, copyrights, and innovation protection.
Two-Day Workshop on Research Methodology
The Department of Education conducted a Two-Day Workshop on Research Methodology on 29–30 September 2025, focusing on qualitative and quantitative research approaches and academic writing.
Special Lecture by National Awardee Teacher
On 6 October 2025, the Department of Mizo & Cultural Studies organized a special lecture delivered by Dr. Zoramdinthara, a National Awardee teacher, who shared his academic journey and motivated students to pursue excellence through dedication and perseverance.
Faculty Development Program on Digital Literacy
A Faculty Development Program on Digital Literacy was conducted from 24–28 November 2025 in collaboration with ICT Academy. The program trained faculty members in using digital tools and technology-enhanced teaching methods.
Political Talk on Mizoram Politics
The Department of Political Science organized the 3rd Political Talk on 26 November 2025 titled “Dampa Election and the Future of Mizoram Politics.” Experts analyzed the evolving political landscape and governance issues in the state.
Special Lecture on Early Childhood Education
The Department of Education organized a special lecture on “Early Childhood Education (ECE)” on 13 February 2026. Dr. Ruth Rosangpuii from SCERT Mizoram discussed theoretical foundations and pedagogical approaches to early childhood learning.
Lectures Hosted
- The Department of Political Science at IU Mizoram hosted a thought-provoking "Two Days Special Lectures" series on 20th January, 2023. This event featured two distinguished speakers addressing students with the aim to equip students with valuable insights for academic and professional pursuits. Mr. Vanlalchaka Hmar, MCS (2022 batch) delivered a lecture on the "Scope and Prospect of Political Science in Civil Service Exam," sharing his experience and expertise, to guide students on leveraging their political science background to succeed in the Civil Service Examination. Dr. Benjamin Lalfakzuala, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Political Science, Mizoram Christian College delivered a lecture on the "Relevance of Western Political Philosophy", exploring the enduring influence of Western philosophical thought on contemporary political theory and systems.
- The Department of History at IU Mizoram launched its new monthly lecture series. The inaugural session was conducted by Dr. Vanlalpari, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Mizoram Christian College on 17th February , 2023.
- The Department of English at IU Mizoram organized a stimulating one-day lecture series on "Contemporary Literature" on 24th February, 2023. The event featured presentations by a distinguished panel of experts - Dr. C Lalawmpuia Vanchiau, Dr. C Lalrinzuala and Lalsangliani Ralte.
- The Department of Social Work at ICFAI University Mizoram hosted a talk on "Project Formulation and Establishment of NGOs: Scope and Prospects" on 1st November, 2022. The event featured Ms. K Vanlalthangzuali, Director and Co-founder of One Step 'Elder Day Care Centre' at Lunglei and Field Officer of the National Helpline for Senior Citizens of Mizoram, and Mr. Lalhmangaihzuala, Data Operator and Core Member at the One Step ‘Elder Day Care Centre’, Lunglei.
